About Us

Setting the Agenda, Informing Minds, Shaping Perspectives & Driving Policy Change. This is The New Bengal Gazette, an independent, youth-led national digital media outlet based out of Delhi. Started by two young journalists Sumit Singh and Syed Abubakr in December 2024, the digital platform aims to set the right news agenda, ask hard questions, inform minds of our readers and viewers, shape public discourse and perspectives, and drive policy change to see impact in the society. Our forte is politics- both of India and the world, conflict, human rights and environment.

Vision

At a time when journalism is understood to be drifting away from the genuine issues of the people, we envision creating a platform that brings the public back to the heart of the news. As journalists, we see how today’s media is disconnected with the ground reality. Our vision is to restore public faith in journalism by crafting stories that reflect the lived realities of ordinary people. We aim to be the voice that listens, questions, and challenges power, while empowering communities with truth that drives change.

Our platform will prominently report stories of resilience, struggles and the pursuit of justice bringing forward narratives that spark dialogue and encourage public discourse. Our vision is to bridge the gap between the newsroom and the grassroots, ensuring that journalism goes back to the masses.

Mission

Our mission is to provide comprehensive, independent, and credible news coverage that reflects the dynamic, multifaceted nature of developments in the Indian landscape and the world. We are committed to uncovering the hidden stories, speaking truth to power with courage, and ensuring that every story is told with integrity. Through innovative digital platforms, we aim to reach millions of readers and viewers, creating a space for free expression, discourse and meaningful dialogue.

As we grow, we aspire to set new benchmarks in journalism, promoting transparency, accountability, and social responsibility in the evolving media landscape. We take bold stances on critical issues, challenging the status quo and providing a voice to the marginalised and those who are often neglected and are unheard in the mainstream media landscape of India. We aim to leverage technology to enhance storytelling, making news accessible, engaging, and relevant to a digital-first audience.

Looking ahead, we aim to expand our presence across platforms and geographies, diversifying into investigative journalism, multimedia content, and interactive formats. We aspire to build a community where readers actively participate, shaping the future of news through collaboration, engagement, and shared values of truth and integrity. As we grow, our ultimate goal is to become a beacon of trust and a platform for informed public discourse in an increasingly polarised media world.
